Today is Sunday and I woke up at about 10 o'clock in the morning. The first thing I did was flip through the newspapers and I found an interesing article about how to become a superior writer.
There are six areas/aspects you have to master to become a superior writer, which is grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, style and creativity. After reading the article, I was thinking if it was possible for me to become a superior writer. Well, writing is one of my greatest interest, and becoming a decent writer is kind of like my greatest dream in life (currently).
Writing is fun. All of us have started writing since young, it is something easy to learn, but difficult to master. Grammar, punctuation, vocabulary and spelling. We've been learning these for years at school. These few aspects could be easily mastered if you read, read and read. But for the two other aspects - style and creativity, they are slightly harder to be mastered, in fact, there is no such thing as mastering style and creativity.
To be creative, you have to go out, meet some people, make friends, play games, go for vacation and learn new things. That's the way to become a creative person. Staying at home too much will only make you a nerd, and believe me, you will never become creative and you will not be able to write and compose creative and fascinating stories when you are a nerd.
As for style, well, you just have to read more novels or other reading materials (the beneficial ones) and I'm sure you will be able to acquire your own special and unique writing style subsequently.
Some people say that a photograph could tell a thousand words and some agreed on that. I do not know what you guys think, but, it sounds pretty ridiculous to me (just my personal opinion). A photograph is just a photograph, yes, it may bring back memories of old times, but could it really tell a thousand words? I doubt that.
Whatever. It seems like I've gone a little too far. My point is, words make you think, let you make use of your imagination and let your mind operates. Pictures/photographs couldn't do that, could they?
Which is better? A diary or a photo? Your choice.
I pick photo. Personally, i think photos bring back memory, but it does not stop here per se. Photos too, can be creative & leads to endless type of imagination. Think of all those picture gallery, its really interesting too~
