David Villa

A school assignment~

If I were given a chance to be anybody, I would definitely want to be the Spanish striker and Barcelona football star David Villa. The reasons are simple, as a world-class footballer, I could gain fame, fortune and most importantly, reputation.

Football had always been my favorite sport since young, and now, as a professional footballer, I would play football not only for myself but also for my supportive family and my die-hard supporters. I would never let them down. I would lead my club Barcelona towards victory in the Spanish La Liga League and then we would get to challenge the European giants Inter Milan and Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Having defeated the European’s best football clubs, we would finally receive the most prominent title in European football – the European Champion.

Being one of the best footballers in the world, sooner or later, I’d probably get selected as the FIFA World Player of The Year by the international football association. However, becoming the world’s best player would not stop me from making further improvements. I would keep on practicing to enhance my imperfect skills so that one day, I would be able to lead the Spain national football team to win the world’s most well-known and prestigious football tournament – the FIFA World Cup. Having achieved so much, I would undoubtedly become a famous and highly-respected footballer admired by millions of people around the globe.

Besides fame and reputation, as the world’s highest-paid football star, I would gain a substantial amount of fortune. With the fortune I had acquired, I’d buy a big and luxurious manor for my parents and also employ lots of servants and maids to ensure my mum that she would never ever need to worry about the troublesome household chores anymore. Besides, the money could be used for charitable purposes such as donating and providing aid to the poor. Moreover, I would also like to make the slightest contribution to the society by providing funds for the development of the community towards a better future.

If only I were given the chance to be David Villa, if only……

A Fiction: Exotic Pleasure

Blood spilt all over the ground as the man stabbed his victim on the waist under the faint moonlight. The man removed his bloody knife from his victim’s body, only to forcefully thrust it once again at the same wounded spot. The rhythm was continued for several more times, until the unfortunate victim fell to his knees. He unhinged his jaws, trying to moan, but not a sound came out, his strength was utterly drained away by the unbearable pain. Pressing his palm on his bleeding wound, slowly, he stopped struggling and collapsed entirely to the ground. The man went motionless; his gasping sound could be heard no more, lying lifelessly with his eyes wide opened on the cold pavement along the stark and desolated streets.

The murderer glared at the deceased body in front of him, at first he made no expression. He looked at his own hands with his soulless eyes, both of them stained with the fresh blood of his newest victim. Staring once again at the corpse he had created, he smirked wickedly. The man wasn’t his first victim, but he was unlucky enough to become the prey of this blood-thirsty murderer.

Criminals aren’t complicated, they always have plans, whether to earn an ill-gotten fortune, or to bring vengeance to the ones they resent. They are all schemers. But this man was no schemer; he was a man without plans. All he wanted was to kill, to watch his victims begging for mercy, to feel blood splattered all over himself and to enjoy the very last moments of his dying victims. Money wasn’t what he wanted; he was a descendant of a fairly rich family and had inherited a substantial amount of fortune from his parents when they passed away. He made no intention to make a fortune by stealing his victims’ money or jewellery, he didn’t even bother looking for their wallets. His life was extremely dull as he was living a luxurious life without any worries, pleasure was what he demand, the pleasure to kill. To him, killing was exciting and satisfying; he could obtain limitless satisfaction that nothing else could give.

The smell of blood gave him excitement, like a powerful vitality booster, making him wanting to search for his next victim. He stripped off an old metal crucifix hanging upon the chest of the dead body and stuffed it into his pocket. To avoid any unnecessary attention or eye-witnesses, he strode away quickly in quiet paces. The blood-stained knife was still in his tightly clench fist as blood was still dripping from the blade that had destroyed a handful of innocent and pitiful souls as he was pacing along the narrow alleyway.

Darkness started to fade away from the starless sky, dawn was slowly approaching, and the murderer knew that his joyful time was almost over. As he was wiping the blood away from his beloved murdering asset with a piece of ragged cloth in his limousine, he heard someone screaming in terror from the adjacent avenue, a wide and evil grin appeared on his face. Without any hesitation, he drove off satisfyingly with his newest prize in his pocket.

Paul The Octopus

Paul the octopus has become the interest of everyone on the planet recently. The English-born octopus has made eight predictions on the results of eight prominent World Cup matches and all of them turned out to be a hundred percent accurate.

Weeks ago, when Paul's German owner first showed the media his pet octopus, claiming that it was a psychic, no one believed in his seemingly absurd assertion. But now, the 100% accuracy of the predictions made by the little sea-creature clearly proves that his owner isn't another trickster who is trying to make a name by cheating the public.

Yesterday, the German made an announcement to the world, claiming that his pet octopus will make no further predictions for football matches. I'm sure Paul will certainly enjoy his retirement, farewell, Oracle Paul.

THE WORLD CUP FINALS

The Fifa World Cup 2010 is about to come to an end.

Today is the grand final - Spain against Holland. Some of my friends who are die-hard football supporters decided to stay up for the greatest match of the year. After much consideration, I made my decision, which is to sleep earlier and then wake up at 2.30 in the morning for the match. After all, it's the world cup final!

The last Fifa world cup was held on year 2006, hosted by Germany. Before that was the Fifa world cup 2002 hosted by Japan and Korea, and I was only a 9-year-old kid then, and knew nothing about football......

Okay now, it's almost 12 o'clock, time to get some sleep, and I'm going to put 3 alarms around my bed. My iPhone alarm on my left, my second phone alarm on my right, and my alarm clock behind my pillow. Sounds funny, huh? I don't care. Waking up at 2.30 is of utmost priority right now. Haha.

One more thing I'd like to do.

shouting: SPAIN!!!!! SURE WIN!!!!

Okay, now, goodnight.

Short-Listed

It was about 10.30pm when I reached my house. Having spent 2 hours in the tuition class, I felt exhausted. Before going to bed, I logged on my facebook account and started giving comments on my friend's post, about how we'd like to deep fry Paul the freakin Octopus who made England and Argentina lose in the Fifa 2010 top 16 and quarter finals respectively.

Just as I was about to turn off my computer, I thought of opening my MSN mail-box to check whether there were any special or unusual mails other than the "facebook notification" junks.

As I expected, I saw a whole bunch of junk mails, but, all but one was different. The sender was from Sunway University College. "OMG!", I told myself when I finished reading the first line of the content of the mail.

"Congratulations! Your entry is one of our 10 shortlisted entries in the run for the iPod Touch and RM800!" It read.

I was really excited. After spending so much time to compose a "masterpiece" essay, not to mention the "decorating part" of my blog post, it was proven that my efforts were not wasted.

As I said in my contest submission blog post, the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. My recent "dream" is to win the blogging contest, and now I'm one of the 10 shortlisted bloggers, once again, it's proven that the quote above is definitely right!

Happy Cake Day

Yesterday was my 17th birthday, the 4th of July, the same date as the US independence day. I was wondering, if I were born in the US, things would be so much better, I might get invited to the White House or something, yeah, in Malaysia, they actually do invite those who were born on 31st of August for a feast or party in the palace on the National Day.

Yesterday was a "wonderful" day, an extremely "wonderful" day. I woke up in the morning, at about 9 o'clock, my mother was standing before my bed. I was still half-conscious and could barely open my eyes. "We're leaving for a meal, with your dad's friend, bye-bye." My mum and dad gave my brother a Rm100 note and told him to bring me out for lunch and buy a cake, and then, they left.

Oh, great! Fantastic! Go out for lunch with some friends in Perak, that was the best thing I've ever heard in my entire life. After having lunch, I bought a cake from Secret Recipe. Something really cool happened. I actually wrote the letters on the cake myself and carried the cake to my brother's car myself. Cool huh? DIY birthday, coolest thing ever...

We went back home. I felt bored and started surfing the internet and then I fell asleep on the sofa for a couple of hours. When I woke up, I looked at the clock. 5.00 pm, it showed. I tilted my head towards the windows, the sunlight dimmed, the sky was getting darker. I arose from my sofa, staggered across the living room and glared at the parking spot in front of my house. As I expected, it was still empty.

It wasn't until 8.00 o'clock that my parents returned home from their lunch which took them a life-time and brought us out for the "celebration".

Birthday was boring, I'd rather I didn't have a birthday. Everything was aweful, except one. I've received a book "Shutter Island" as a birthday gift from my brother, and that was the best thing I would like to mention on my 17th birthday...
